CUMMINS USA SOURCES HEAVY-DUTY WATER PUMPS FROM
JKM DAERIM®
In a highly significant
development, JKM Daerim® has commenced
commercial despatches of heavy-duty Water Pumps to Cummins Komatsu
Engine Company (CKEC). Cummins Komatsu Engine Company (CKEC)
is a joint venture between Cummins, USA, and Komatsu, Japan,
and has its manufacturing facilities in USA.
The QST 30 water pump
is fitted on the high-horsepower (HHP) engines (over 150 HP)
manufactured by CKEC and is part of a broad programme for supply
of a range of Water Pumps for CKEC’s
HHP product portfolio. JKM Daerim® has been identified as
a single-source for this vast range of pumps. The development
of other pumps is in progress and JKM Daerim® expects to
commence dispatches in the coming months. Dynamatic® Hydraulics,
a division of Dynamatic® Technologies Limited, based in Bangalore,
manufactures the Lub-oil Pump for this range.
The water pumps are
made to demanding standards with a large number of ‘poke-yokes’ developed
and integrated with the manufacturing process to ensure a high
degree of durability and reliability.
Cummins is now in talks with JKM Daerim® and
Dynamatic® Hydraulics
for the sourcing of pumps and other products to meet the requirements
of their plants in UK.
JKM DAERIM® SECURES HONEYWELL – GARRETT
ORDER FOR COMPRESSOR HOUSINGS
JKM Daerim® has bagged an order for one million compressor
housings from Honeywell - Garrett, the world’s largest
manufacturer of Turbochargers for diesel vehicles. JKM Daerim® is
Honeywell’s single source in India for this product and
supports Honeywell’s operations in various parts of the
world.
Compressor housings are highly engineered and intricate parts,
made to exacting specifications and manufactured from special
aluminum alloys under highly controlled conditions. They are
a critical component in the manufacture and assembly of the entire
turbocharger.
JKM Daerim® has set-up large-scale manufacturing facilities
to execute this order. There are 9 manufacturing ‘lines’ dedicated
for this project and more manufacturing lines will be set-up,
as required by the customer. The castings are done by Dynametal®,
a division of Dynamatic Technologies, the aluminium die-cast
foundry located in Chennai. JDAL maintains ZERO-ppm quality levels
in dispatches of compressor housings to Honeywell.
Honeywell manufactures over 9 million turbochargers per annum.
With the increasing use of diesel engines worldwide, the demand
for turbochargers will continue to rise. Though European automobile
manufacturers lead the field in the usage of turbochargers, the
American market will see high-growth rates in future, keeping in
mind the high price of oil and the increasing use of diesel engines
in automobiles.
JKM DAERIM® TO
SUPPLY TRANSMISSION PRODUCTS TO JOHN DEERE, USA
John Deere, the world’s largest manufacturer of tractors,
has started sourcing Skid Steer Loader Handles from JKM Daerim® .
The products which are used in their Construction & Forestry
(C&F) Division in USA are aluminum die-cast products that
are subsequently machined and then coated with EPDM rubber.
John Deere’s Agricultural Division has also placed orders
on JKM Daerim® for supply of various transmission products
which are pressure die-cast and machined to John Deere’s
exacting standards.
JKM Daerim® is in discussions
with John Deere’s C & CE
Division for the supply of Spindle Assemblies, which will be
fitted on their new-generation value-engineered tractors, manufactured
in USA. Apart from machining, the products involve assembly of
various components onto the main spindle.
JKM DAERIM® COMMENCES
SUPPLY TO TATA MOTORS – FIAT COMBINE
With the resumption of production
of Fiat vehicles at their plant in Ranjangaon, Pune, JKM
Daerim® has recommenced
despatches of various Transmission products to TATA Motors-Fiat
Combine. In order to meet the customer’s urgent production
requirements, JKM Darim® had had to produce the components
in record time. JKM Daerim® is currently engaged in discussions
with Tata Motors – Fiat combine for the development of
Powertrain and Transmission products.
